I made this hat for J.P.'s 4th birthday. Earlier this spring, I had knit a hat for his preschool's silent auction. He was so disappointed to find out that he couldn't have it that I decided to make him one for his birthday. My knitterly heart was warmed when he promptly put on the hat and left it on for the rest of the evening while we ate birthday cake. Every knitter should have such an appreciative audience! That said, I have purchases to confess, but I will leave that, along with the photo evidence for another post!
